New Manufacturing Technologies enable Highest Repeatability

Developed in collaboration with our customers, this comparison reference standard for the inspection of optical surfaces under MIL-PRF-13830B,  MIL-C-675C, ANSI/OEOSC OP1.002:2009 (Visibility) and  ISO 10110-7 / ISO 14997 (Visibility) meets the demands of today’s inspection of high-quality optics.

Manufactured using the latest technologies, RedLux standards overcome the consistency issues in previously available reference standards that have long plagued the optics industry.

This ensures consistent grading of surface imperfections throughout your supply chain, whether it is done by operators or during machine calibration.

FAQs

RedLux’s comparison standards offer higher consistency between sets than previously achieved by other manufacturers. This consistency ensures that surface quality remains uniform throughout the entire supply chain.

The individual scratch brightness was selected to align with the average brightness profile of a larger group of Davidson D-668 standards. This approach aims to maintain the average industry yield, adhering to the optical surface quality requirements specified in MIL-PRF-13830B.

The scratches and digs have been generated on a glass substrate using a controlled and highly repeatable manufacturing process.

Each set can be supplied with a certificate, providing further assurance of quality and conformity.

In the past, manufacturers striving for the highest consistency throughout their supply chain had to rely on a single shared set of Davidson D-668s. Now, each manufacturer can maintain their own standards, confident that the standards used by others in the supply chain align with theirs, ensuring everyone works towards the same target value.
